About Us

About Frost Corner

Hi, I’m Nancy.

Nancy Silverton

If you ask me what my favorite place in the house is, it isn’t the living room.

It’s the kitchen.

Not because it’s perfect. Not because everything always turns out right. It’s because that’s where memories seem to happen without anyone planning them.

Some of my best conversations have happened while blending a frozen drink, squeezing lemons, or waiting for homemade syrup to cool on the counter.

And most of those moments happened with my dad, Daniel.

People often ask how Frost Corner started.

The truth?

It didn’t begin as a business idea or a plan to build a recipe website.

It started with a simple question we kept asking each other.

“Do you think we can make this at home?”

Sometimes it was a coffee shop drink.

Sometimes it was a slushie from a convenience store.

Sometimes it was a restaurant favorite that disappeared from the menu.

Instead of guessing, we’d start experimenting.

Some recipes worked on the first try.

Most didn’t.

But every failed batch taught us something that made the next one better.

That’s still how we create recipes today.

Meet Daniel

Daniel Boulud

My dad has always believed that good food doesn’t have to be complicated.

He notices the little things.

The amount of ice.

The balance between sweet and sour.

Whether a drink still tastes great after sitting for ten minutes.

He’s patient in ways I’m still learning.

When I’m ready to call a recipe “good enough,” he’s usually the one saying,

“Let’s test it one more time.”

Honestly?

He’s usually right.

Working together means every recipe gets two opinions, two sets of taste buds, and plenty of honest conversations before it ever reaches this website.

Why We Built Frost Corner

There are thousands of recipes online.

We know that.

So we asked ourselves another question.

“If someone spends their time making one of our recipes, what would make it worth it?”

Our answer was simple.

Trust.

If you visit Frost Corner, we want you to feel like you’re cooking alongside someone who already made the mistakes for you.

Someone who already discovered that adding too much ice waters everything down.

Someone who already figured out which syrup actually works.

Someone who already tested three different methods so you don’t have to.

That’s what we try to do every single time.

Every Recipe Gets Tested

You’ll never find recipes here that were copied from somewhere else without being made in our own kitchen.

If we publish it…

We’ve made it.

Usually more than once.

Sometimes three times.

Sometimes six.

Occasionally we lose count.

We’ll adjust ingredient amounts.

We’ll change blending times.

We’ll compare different brands.

We’ll test substitutions whenever they actually work.

If something doesn’t make the recipe better, we leave it out.

Simple as that.

Our Favorite Kind of Recipes

Cold drinks always seem to bring people together.

Maybe that’s why we keep coming back to them.

  • Refreshing lemonades.
  • Creamy frappes.
  • Fruit smoothies.
  • Frozen coffees.
  • Colorful mocktails.
  • Classic milkshakes.
  • Ice-cold slushies.

And those famous restaurant or coffee shop drinks that everyone wishes they could make at home.

If we love drinking it…

There’s a good chance we’ll eventually try recreating it.

We Love Copycat Recipes

There’s something fun about taking your favorite drink from a café or restaurant and figuring out how to make it yourself.

Not because we want an exact laboratory copy.

Because we want something that tastes amazing in a real home kitchen.

That means ingredients you can actually find.

Instructions that make sense.

No fancy equipment required unless it truly makes a difference.

If you already own a blender, a measuring cup, and a little curiosity…

You’re halfway there.

Real Kitchens Aren’t Perfect

Neither is ours.

Sometimes we spill syrup.

Sometimes we blend a little too long.

Sometimes we completely forget to buy lemons.

Recipes don’t have to come from perfect kitchens.

They just need to come from honest ones.

That’s why you’ll often find little tips throughout our recipes.

Things like,

“Don’t skip this step.”

Or,

“Here’s what happened when we tried it another way.”

Those notes usually come from experience.

Sometimes… from mistakes we’d rather you didn’t repeat.

What You’ll Always Find Here

When you make one of our recipes, here’s what you can expect.

  • Recipes we’ve personally tested.
  • Clear instructions that don’t assume you’re already an expert.
  • Honest tips based on what actually worked.
  • Easy-to-find ingredients whenever possible.
  • Helpful substitutions when we’ve tested them ourselves.
  • Drinks and treats we’d happily serve to our own family and friends.

If we aren’t confident in a recipe, it doesn’t get published.

Learning Never Stops

One thing cooking has taught us is that there’s always something new to learn.

A different technique.

A better ingredient.

A smarter shortcut.

We’re constantly improving recipes as we discover better ways to make them.

If we find an update that genuinely makes a recipe better, we’ll make the change.

Not because we want more recipes.

Because we want better ones.

Our Promise

We won’t promise perfection.

No one can.

But we can promise honesty.

If a recipe needs extra chilling time, we’ll tell you.

If a certain blender works better, we’ll mention it.

If a shortcut hurts the final result, we’ll say so.

We’d rather help you make one fantastic drink than publish ten recipes we’re not proud of.

From Our Kitchen to Yours

One of my favorite parts of running Frost Corner is knowing that the same recipe we’re making here might end up on someone else’s table a few hours later.

That’s a pretty special thought.

Maybe you’re making a frozen coffee before work.

Maybe you’re blending fruit smoothies on a warm afternoon.

Maybe you’re recreating your favorite café drink because the nearest coffee shop is miles away.

Whatever brought you here…

I’m really glad it did.

Thank you for spending a little time with us.

I hope every recipe helps you create something refreshing, something memorable, and maybe even a few conversations around the kitchen, just like they have in ours.

See you in the next recipe.
